How Sprig works
Sprig Study is a Canvas-only study tool for keeping track of due work and getting questions about a draft before it is handed in.
1. Add a read-only Canvas calendar feed
A student copies the private Calendar Feed link from Canvas into Sprig. Sprig reads assignment calendar information and due dates from that feed. It cannot submit work, see grades or submission status, edit Canvas, or confirm that an assignment was completed.
2. See due work and choose reminders
Sprig displays the assignments from connected feeds and can remind the student before an unfinished assignment is due. Marking work done is self-reported in Sprig; it does not update Canvas.
3. Submit a draft when feedback would help
A student can paste text or code, or submit images, a PDF, or a Word document. Up to 10 image files may make one submission; an individual upload is limited to about 7 MB. The student should include the assignment question along with their own work when it matters to the feedback.
4. Work from located questions
The reviewer returns a small set of questions or pointers attached to the relevant part of the student’s work. Three comments is typical; it may return fewer, and it does not pad feedback to meet a number. Each comment has up to five follow-up questions, then the student is encouraged to revise and submit an updated draft.
